This week as the saying goes was certainly a game of 2 halves.
We started brightly getting on the ball early and moving the ball at pace. A few early chances were created as we exposed the space our pitch affords with some delightful passes out wide. Midway through the first half Sam Finlay was played through from a delightful ball from the left foot of Matt Pooley and was brought down for a penalty which was converted by Owen Rice.
After another good passage of play we were awarded a corner. Whipped in by Henry Wainwright Mick Coffee delivered a thunderous header giving us a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes. 2-0 soon became 3 and yet another ball exposing the weakness in the defence sent through Sam Finlay to calmly slot the ball under the advancing keeper.
This was a terrific first half performance similar to previous games with the difference we were a little more confident in front of goal and converted the openings.
2nd half we knew the opposition would come out quick and they did just that. From a free kick just inside their half the ball was played in and caused some confusion as the ball was allowed to pass the line for the opposition. 3-1. This gave the opposition a little belief and energy and started to get on top. Midway through the ball got to their 10 who was unmarked and scored a fantastic goal to the top left, this was after they had one disallowed for offside.
With 20 to go and players struggling with injuries it was a nervy backs to the wall however we managed our game a little better and held on for a well deserved 3-2 victory.
